Wondered how Kylie looks so good at 48 ... radio wave facelifts at £250 a blast
AFTER giving up Botox, Kylie Minogue credited a £ .99 face cream for helping her retain her glowing beauty.
But, two years short of her 50th birthday, it appears there’s another reason behind the singer’s everyouthful appearance – collagen wave facial treatments.
Miss Minogue is a fan of the £250-atime procedure, which involves the use of radio waves to tighten skin tissue and plump up the face.
Following an initial course of six treatments with celebrity dermatologist Nilam Patel, the Australian pop star is now on a maintenance programme of one session every few months.
Celebrity fans of collagen waves include Amanda Holden, Nicole Scherzinger and Spice Girl Mel B.
In the hour-long sessions, a metal sheet is placed behind the back and a heated roller is manoeuvred around the face and neckline, delivering radio wave energy.
This heats up the middle and lower layers of skin and underlying tissue,
‘No covering up with a balaclava’
causing deep collagen structures to tighten while leaving the skin’s surface undamaged. It is said to boost the body’s existing collagen levels, promoting natural production of the protein.
Results are claimed to be instantaneous, although it takes around six months for the full effects to be realised.
Miss Minogue has previously spoken out about her fear of ageing.
She admitted to using Botox but said she had given it up in favour of Pond’s moisturiser costing £ .99 a jar.
Last night a friend said: ‘Kylie is a big fan of non-invasive treatments, which means there is no down time – and no covering up with a balaclava for the next few days.
‘Collagen waves are utterly painless, and very relaxing, and afterwards her skin is glowing. It’s a lot more natural than Botox, and doesn’t involve painful injections. Kylie believes they have taken years off her, without given her a frozen, unnatural look.’
A spokesman for Miss Minogue declined to comment.
