Love blooms once more for The Fall star Gillian

-

TWICE-dIvorCEd The Fall star Gillian Anderson has always remained optimistic about her romantic prospects, despite a rather turbulent private life. Now the mother of three, who first found fame in The X-Files, appears to be in love again.

I can reveal that the 48-year-old actress is dating oscar-nominated screenwriter Peter Morgan, whose cinematic hits include The Queen and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Anderson (right) who lives in London, was at a party in New York this week with 53-year-old Morgan to promote his acclaimed new Netflix series The Crown, where she was overheard telling friends they are now in a relationship.

The news of their blossoming romance follows my disclosure earlier this year that Morgan had separated from his glamorous Austrian wife Lila Schwarzenberg, born Princess Anna Carolina zu Schwarzenberg (both above).

Prior to their split, Lila gave a revealing insight into the state of their fractious marriage in a series of highly personal columns for an Austrian society magazine.

First, she revealed what she said were his unsuccessful efforts to seduce her on holiday with the help of the erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. ‘Peter still carries the fantasy that the combination of sun, sand and sea undoubtedly leads to countless sex sessions,’ she wrote. ‘Unfortunately, I have to admit that Shades of Grey didn’t really change much in the course of our holiday...’

She also described how Morgan was once furious to be served a dinner of fish fingers.

‘Peter always says you can gauge the state of our marriage on the number of fish fingers he gets served up in a week,’ she wrote in 2013.

‘And it appears I went too far once again with my culinary neglect towards Peter as I served him the leftovers of the kids’ meal. He took one look and said: “I am neither five years old nor a f ****** penguin.” ’

Morgan said of his marriage to Lila, with whom he has five children: ‘We are so wildly chalk and cheese. People come to our house . . . and they leave so happy not to be us.’

At least the new lovebirds will be able to console each other about their failed attempts at matrimony.

Anderson married X Files assistant art director Clyde Klotz in 1994 and they divorced three years later.

In 2004, she wed Julian ozanne, a documentary film-maker, but their marriage barely lasted two years.

Her last serious relationship was with businessman Mark Griffiths, with whom she has two young sons. That ended in 2012 after six years.

Anderson, who has admitted to having lesbian flings in her youth, said recently about her taste in men: ‘I have a tendency to have longerlasting relationships with men who are in touch with their feminine sides.’ Just don’t give him fish fingers, Gillian.
