FAMILY FILM Monsters University, 4.30pm, Sky Pixar BETTER late than never, here’s Disney-Pixar’s prequel to Monsters, Inc, a full 12 years after the original. It’s the story of a beautiful friendship (pictured) — or not, as the case may be . . . NEW DRAMA Good Girls Revolt, Amazon Prime IMAGINE a light-hearted Mad Men, told from the women’s perspectiv­e and set in a late-Sixties newsroom, and you’ve got the gist of Amazon’s engaging new drama. Grace Gummer (daughter of Meryl Streep) plays one of the women who want to write, not just research for the men; Jim Belushi is one of the oafs standing in their way. MUSING MUSIC Nicky And Wynton: The Making Of A Concerto, 8pm, BBC4 THE jazz great Wynton Marsalis has been a mentor to Scottish violinist Nicola Benedetti since her late teens, but they’ve never collaborat­ed to make a concerto before. Theirs is a fascinatin­g, mutually challengin­g partnershi­p, and the project is not easy. SHOWBIZ LEGEND Petula Clark Live In Berlin, 9pm, BBC4 THE great singer performs her first live concert in Berlin, and gives a loose but barnstormi­ngly profession­al performanc­e that’s a testament to her nearly eight decades in showbiz. She effortless­ly delivers Downtown, Don’t Sleep In The Subway, Sacrifice My Heart and more. EPIC DRAMA Voice Of The Heart, 9pm, True Entertainm­ent THIS lavish Barbara Taylor Bradford epic from 1989 is full of lingering looks and lilting music. It centres on the betrayal that splits two women, one a highflying American actor, the other a British aristocrat (Victoria Tennant). Look out for Honor Blackman. CRACKING CAPER Hooten & The Lady, 9pm, Sky1 THE charming duo’s penultimat­e exploit takes them to Cambodia — where, like Moscow last week, the episode was actually filmed — on the trail of the coveted Cintamani jewel. Once there, a drugs gang frustrates their efforts, and we learn more of Hooten’s shady past. COLONIAL HISTORY Explosion 1812, 10pm, Yesterday IN 1812, the U.S. invaded what was then the British colony of Upper Canada. Most of the inhabitant­s were American-born, and the U.S. anticipate­d swift victory — but the conflict proved more complicate­d than that, as Dan Snow reveals.
