MATCH Of The Day presenter Gary Lineker was never booked during his football career, but his licentious behaviour off the pitch may deserve a red card. Lineker, polishing his halo after speaking out to support child refugees in Calais, displayed less than angelic behaviour on a British Airways plane to Italy in the early days of his romance with former wife Danielle Bux.

According to fellow passenger Teresa Mahon, who shared the Club Class cabin with the loved-up couple, the former England striker and the Welsh lingerie model, left, were on overly affectionate form during the London to Naples flight.

Mrs Mahon was accompanied by her husband and two small children, then aged 11 and eight, and says Lineker’s amorous antics were ‘completely inappropriate’ for a public place.

‘What they were getting up to opposite my children — it took everything to restrain my husband from confronting him,’ she says.

‘Even the cabin crew were embarrassed and clearly at a loss as to how best to handle things.

‘They actually apologised to us at the end of the flight.’

Millionaire Lineker married Danielle in a secret £400 civil ceremony in Italy the following year with a lavish reception estimated to have cost £250,000.

The couple divorced in January, but remain on friendly terms. Lineker, 55, has reportedly given his blessing to 37-year-old Danielle’s plans to marry LA lawyer Nate Greenwald.

Not content with engaging in political activism about the child migrant crisis — branding the media coverage ‘racist’ — the face of Walkers Crisps is now meddling in American politics.

This week, Lineker told U.S. podcast Planet Futbol: ‘I’m slightly worried about its politics at present… extraordinary goings-on there.’

Lineker added of America, where he is doing an increasing amount of TV punditry: ‘Most of the time I get a degree of anonymity, which is very welcome.’
