AN ARTICLE on August 8 about expenses claimed by top police officers said that Chief Constable Phil Gormley was living rent-free at Tulliallan Castle. In fact he is now paying rent, his pension has been put in abeyance and he was ‘in retirement’ before being reemployed by Police Scotland for only nine weeks, not nine months as stated. We are happy to set the record straight.

A REPORT on october 25 of the trial of Suman Das for sexually assaulting a woman during a flight repeated the prosecution’s claim that he was Qatari. In fact Mr Das is Indian.
