SAS ‘kill list’ of UK jihadis
SAS troops in Iraq have been given a ‘kill or capture’ list of up to 200 British terrorists fighting alongside Islamic State – amid fears they could return home and carry out a massacre.
A senior defence source said: ‘A kill list has been drawn up containing the names of hundreds of very bad people. A lot of them are from the UK. The hunt is on for British Islamists who have effectively gone off grid. This is a multinational special forces operation.’
The SAS is ‘going after British nationals’, the source told The Sunday Times, adding: ‘This is a kill-or-capture mission and it has begun.’ The captured will be handed to Iraq authorities, with a prospect of execution if found guilty. UK officials fear surviving jihadis will be ‘hardened, highly radicalised fighters’. One source said they are ‘more than capable of conducting Paris-style attacks’.
