SNP blamed for deal failure

-

THE head of a Chinese company involved in a collapsed £10billion investment deal has criticised the Scottish Government for its lack of ‘commitment’.

However, Peter Zhang said Sino Fortone had not ruled out working with Scotland despite the breakdown of the deal between the Government and his consortium.

Mr Zhang said: ‘We don’t want to pull out or cancel the agreement, as we have done a lot of groundwork. The ball is in Scotland’s court.’

Scottish Tory economy spokesman Dean Lockhart said: ‘Chinese investors have vast experience of investing, so they would have expected a degree of competence. Instead the SNP proved to be amateurish.’

A spokesman for Economy Secretary Keith Brown said: ‘We will continue to try to attract investment from China and from other countries.’
