Now second Pentonville fugitive found

-

THE second of two inmates who escaped from Pentonville prison has been caught, after almost a week on the run.

James Whitlock, 31, who broke out of the north London jail with Matthew Baker on November 7, was arrested in Hackney, east London, at 4.30pm, police said.

Attempted murderer Baker, 28, was found on Wednesday with a broken leg, under a bed at his sister’s house in Ilford, east London.

The pair, who escaped using diamond-tipped cutting equipment apparently smuggled in by drone, were discovered missing just before midday on Monday.

Two other men, 48 and 19, were arrested at the same address as Whitlock yesterday on suspicion of assisting an offender. All three remained in custody last night.
