Balls survives again but it’s Strictly farewell to Daisy (and not everyone’s sad to see her go)

- By Laura Lambert TV and Radio Reporter

SHE had hoped to bring flower power to the dancefloor with her 60s salsa, but Daisy Lowe rapidly wilted last night as she was booted out of Strictly.

It topped off a sorry week for the 27year-old model, who revealed only a few days ago that she had split from her boyfriend due to the demands of the BBC show.

On the positive side, it could be that her dance partner Aljaz Skorjanec’s fiancee Janette Manrara will be cheering up a little.

Viewers spotted that Miss Manrara, 32, who is also a dancer on the show, was not her usual smiley self on Saturday night. Instead, she was seen scowling as Miss Lowe and Skorjanec clutched each other tightly as they were interviewed by Claudia Winkleman.

Skorjanec, 26, and Miss Lowe have hit it off during the series, posting adoring messages on social media about their partnership. Judges also commented on the passion in their dance routines.

Meanwhile, there was more good news for Ed Balls, who has defied the odds and made it through another week despite being at the bottom of the leader board. His Gangnam Style salsa with Katya Jones included a series of lifts which earned a standing ovation.
