How the 3-hour race unfolded

3.31pm: Romain Grosjean crashes into the wall at the final turn after spinning on his way to the grid.

4.10pm: The race starts behind the safety car, touring for seven laps as the drivers follow in grid order.

4.33pm: Marcus Ericsson spins out on the run to the start-finish line, bringing out the safety car on lap 13.

4.46pm: Kimi Raikkonen spins into a wall and retires. Red flag stops the race.

5.22pm: The race restarts on lap 21 behind the safety car, with Hamilton continuing to lead Rosberg and the rain lighter.

5.37pm: Eight laps are completed behind the safety car before there is another red flag, with the

another appearance for the safety car.

6.48pm: The safety car comes in on lap 56 as Hamilton and Rosberg lead from third-placed rain hammering down again. Spectators boo and give thumbs down.

6.33pm: Felipe Massa crashes out near the pit-lane, leading to yet

Sergio Perez of Force India.

7.11pm: More than three hours after the start, Hamilton wins ahead of Rosberg.
