Lucky break for Durnan

-

DUNDEE UNITED defender Mark Durnan was the hero in his side’s quarter-final victory at Dunfermline but revealed that he was not even supposed to be playing. The centre-half stabbed home the ball from an early corner for the winning goal but was only on the pitch because one of his team-mates had pulled out with injury before kick-off. Durnan said: ‘I wasn’t meant to be playing but somebody pulled out injured, so the manager (Ray McKinnon) took me aside before the game just to say: “You’re going to play”. ‘It was a lucky change and I managed to find the net. I’m just glad we’re in the semi-final.’
