Palace hunting, Jenna? Victoria star looks round des res with her own Albert
THEY have their pick of royal homes as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. Now it appears Jenna Coleman and Tom Hughes are on the hunt for a palace of their own.
The pair, who star in hit ITV Sunday night drama Victoria, have been spotted house-hunting together.
Miss Coleman and Hughes, both 30, are rumoured to have been secretly dating since summer last year, before they began filming as the young Victoria and Albert.
However, the actors are yet to officially confirm their romance.
The pair were seen looking around a five-bedroom property in North London with a price tag of more than £2million.
Described as ‘utterly delightful’, the three-storey semi – which, perhaps appropriately, is Victorian – comes with a 60ft private garden.
But Miss Coleman and Hughes will have their work cut out if they decide to buy the property, with potential buyers being warned that it is ‘in need of refurbishment’.
Earlier this year it emerged that the friends had started dating after Hughes had become jealous when he saw Prince Harry and Miss Coleman together at a polo match last year.
Speaking about working with Hughes, the actress has said: ‘It is wonderful because we are very old friends and ... instantly that connection seems very strong.’
The pair have proved a ratings hit as the young royal couple in Victoria, with the ITV series surpassing BBC1’s Poldark as the top-rating Sunday night drama. ITV has commissioned a second series and a Christmas special, both to air next year. Miss Coleman came to prominence starring alongside Matt Smith and then Peter Capaldi in Doctor Who, having started her career on ITV soap Emmerdale.
Before landing her role in Victoria, the Blackpool-born actress spoke about her frustration at being put in ‘a box’ as a northern woman from a working-class background. For Hughes, a kitchen fitter’s son educated at a Cheshire comprehensive, his role as Prince Albert is his biggest to date.
