Grieving Louis’s show of support for his little sister
HE was praised for performing on Saturday’s The X Factor only a day after the death of his mother was announced.
And several hours later, singer Louis Tomlinson continued to put on a brave face as he left a London nightclub supporting his sister.
The former One Direction star, 24, was out until 5am at Cirque Le Soir following his emotional return to The X Factor, the ITV talent show on which he and the group made their name.
He was joined at the club by his fellow One Direction bandmates Liam Payne and Niall Horan, both 23, and left with his arm wrapped around younger sister Lottie, 18.
Tomlinson’s mother Johannah Deakin, 43, passed away on Wednesday after a sevenmonth battle with leukaemia.
She left behind five other children – Felicite, 16, and two sets of twins, Phoebe and Daisy, 12, and two-year-olds Ernest and Doris. She recently became a grandmother for the first time after Tomlinson had a son, Freddie.
In a touching tribute during The X Factor, judge Simon Cowell told him: ‘The bravery of what you’ve done... I respect you as an artist, as a person and your mum was so proud of you and she was so excited for the performance. She’s looking down on you tonight.’
After the show, Tomlinson used Twitter to thank his fans for their outpouring of support, writing: ‘Feeling so much love around me and my family. Mum would have been so ******* proud (sorry for swearing mum) love you!’
Tomlinson’s debut solo single, dance track Just Hold On, topped the UK iTunes chart following his emotional performance. The single now tops iTunes in 29 countries and has entered the top five in 67 countries in total.
