DISNEY DEMAND Investors have accused Walt Disney of overchargi­ng its Parisian subsidiary Euro Disney for royalties.

French hedge fund CIAM claims the American company has prevented the resort from making profits, and wants it to pay back £780m of charges over the past decade. Walt Disney has dismissed the claim as ‘utterly without merit’.

SHORT TRIPS Holidaymak­ers are ditching long holidays for short trips abroad to save money, new research shows. More than 40pc of travellers are booking breaks of three-to-four days while only 6pc book traditiona­l two-week trips, online travel company eDreams said. Popular destinatio­ns next year include Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

CITY JOBS Jobs in the City increased by 6pc year-on-year, new figures show, but job-seekers increased by 16pc over the same period. It follows a Morgan McKinley survey showing 62pc of City workers would consider moving aboard in the wake of the vote to leave the EU.

BARGAIN HUNT Shoppers are returning to British high streets, new figures suggest. Black Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, saw 2pc more shoppers on British streets than last year, the British Retail Consortium said. But it warned of a growing trend of bargainhun­ters heading to shopping malls.

OIL DRIVE Eleven oil-producing countries outside the Opec oil cartel have agreed to cut output to try and boost prices.

Russia is among those who have agreed to cut supplies by 558,000 barrels per day.
