Instead, he stopped off at a nearby palatial — some might say ostentatious — mansion, which is listed on Airbnb for £8,384 a night. A cross between a Disney princess palace and a Las Vegas casino, this sprawling pile features velvet furnishings, murals of big cats and an outdoor hot tub surrounded by Roman-style colonnades. Indeed, the Airbnb blurb promises ‘the exquisite craftsmanship of each room will have you intrigued continuously’.
