Tracker finds £100k deal with TV dragon

- By Jessica McKay

EVEN the most organised of people will at some point find themselves wondering where their phone or keys have got to.

Now a Scottish start-up company has secured a bumper £100,000 investment from Dragons Den tycoon Peter Jones for a tracker that helps you find your misplaced items.

Last night, Glasgow-based Connect-In was seen securing the six-figure sum to help fund the expansion of its Bluetooth tracker Xupo.

Xupo, which was named Lupo when its creators appeared in the den, helps people find their lost keys, phones, purses, bags and even family pets.

The coin-sized locator communicates with a smartphone app via a Bluetooth Smart sensor to find misplaced items.

Entrepreneur Mr Jones agreed to fund the project in exchange for 30 per cent equity.

The tracker was launched by Strathclyde University graduates Raj Sark, 31, and Vincenz Klemt, 28, after they misplaced a bag with a MacBook laptop and passport at Heathrow Airport.

Mr Sark said: ‘We couldn’t have asked for a better dragon, recognising the true value he will bring to our business based on his network and expertise as one of Britain’s leading technology entrepreneur investors.’

Mr Klemt said: ‘Peter’s investment will help us further strengthen our position in the UK.’
