Lady V’s Elvis act baffles Bafta party

IT’S NOT clear quite why Bafta invited Lady Victoria Hervey to the tea party it hosted in LA this weekend to promote Britain’s film industry.

Perhaps it hoped an aristocrat would impress the Americans.

If so, the 40-year-old socialite will have left them bemused by wearing a risque skintight suit, looking like an Elvis tribute act. Lady Victoria, daughter of the 6th Marquess of Bristol, claimed last year that English women struggle to be sexy: ‘Women in London don’t have the courage to wear sexy outfits. It’s an English thing. I grew up in the South of France, so I have a more international approach.’
