LESS than 5 per cent of our oceans has been explored. So while we know that strange creatures live in this alien underwater environment, some are known to us — while others are not. This startling documentary investigates the truth behind mythical sea monsters; it employs the latest technology to scour the depths of oceans and lakes, and uses CGI and dramatic reconstructions to bring some of these beasts to life. We also get to meet some real-life titans of the deep, such as the giant squid held at the Te Papa Museum in New Zealand (pictured).
