BARRY MASON, who co-wrote that drunken party favourite Delilah — among a barrow-full of other hits — was not born, as you might think, down in the badlands of old Mexico, but up in the Lancashire village of Coppull. He joins KEN BRUCE (RADIO 2, 9.30AM) each morning this week to pick his Tracks Of My Years.

THE singer-songwriter P.J. Harvey (pictured) travelled through Kosovo, witnessing the aftermath of the country’s short but bloody war. She kept diaries, and later wrote music about the things she had seen and heard. In the opening episode of this harrowing, week-long drama, ON KOSOVO FIELD (RADIO 4, 10.45AM, 7.45PM) adapted from those journals, a brother and sister return to their native village, where a mass grave has been discovered.
