I’ve had a better offer, Comrade

-

JEREMY Corbyn’s relaunch is going almost as well as that of Top Gear. I’m not sure I even know what Labour’s policies are now. What’s worse is that neither does he.

First, the Labour Party leader managed to pull the focus from his party’s key message about Brexit by blurting out a policy about capping how much people can earn.

Apparently, Mr Corbyn thinks this should be 20 times that of the lowest paid worker – around £300,000 if staff earn minimum wage.

This only serves to remind us that Comrade Jeremy takes home £137,000 yet doesn’t believe this counts as wealthy.

Next, Tristram Hunt MP has handed in his notice to head up London’s V&A museum, presumably because the ancient exhibits are livelier and more forward thinking at the V&A.

Mr Hunt is the second Labour MP to leave politics in a month – and may not be the last.

If you’re a Blairite MP under Corbyn, what job could possibly be worse than your current post? Stacking shelves? Trainee lion tamer? Head of social media for ScotRail?

How long before Corbyn’s other MPs start touting their availability for work, using the handy platform that is available to them?

‘I thank my honourable friend for his question about maritime shipping law and wonder if he is aware that there is a way to check if he is eligible for PPI compensation, without having to leave his comfy green seat?’

‘Thank you, Mr Speaker. And is the honourable member aware that my main flaws, if you ask me to reflect on them, are probably obsessive perfectionism and inability to rest until a job is completed…’
