How to get the enviable physiques of the stars

This week: Actress Naomie harris’s shoulders NAOMIE HARRIS revealed her perfectly toned shoulders at the Golden Globe Awards recently (right). To prepare for her role as Miss Moneypenny in the Bond film Spectre, the 40-year-old worked with a personal trainer two hours a day, five days a week, for two months. When not filming, she says: ‘My go-to things are yoga, running and circuit training. I do Gyrotonic, a dance-based form of yoga, Pilates and chi gung.’

WHAT TO TRY: The one-arm leaning lateral raise is fantastic for defined shoulders. Stand sideways to a door or banister, holding a dumbbell in your right hand. Hold on to the door frame or other stable structure with your left hand and lean to your right until your left arm is straight. Lift the dumbbell slightly higher than your shoulders with a slightly bent elbow. Slowly lower the weight and repeat. Perform this in a slow, controlled motion, starting each repetition from scratch, rather than swinging the weight. Repeat 12 times, then change sides. Graduate to performing two to three sets.
