Sanchez admits to £865,000 tax fraud

-

ARSENAL striker Alexis Sanchez yesterday confessed to tax fraud in Spain of almost €1million. The Chilean owned up to defrauding the Spanish treasury of €983,000 (£865,000) between 2012 and 2013 when he was playing for Barcelona. In his statement to a Catalan court, via video link from London, Sanchez confessed to two counts of tax fraud. Arsenal’s top scorer with 16 goals this season has already returned the money, meaning it is likely that an agreement will be struck to ensure Sanchez does not have to go to trial. Sanchez’s defence lawyers will now begin negotiations with the Spanish treasury over his punishment. A jail sentence is possible, but a fine is far more likely. INVERNESS Caley Thistle have signed former Motherwell and Dundee United striker Henri Anier until the end of the season. Larnell Cole has extended his loan spell from Fulham until the summer, while David Raven has signed a six-month contract extension. Kilmarnock, meanwhile, have bolstered their defence by signing 28-year-old Karleigh Osborne from Plymouth on a two-year deal.
