Buble: My brave boy is winning his cancer fight
A RELIEVED Michael Buble has confirmed that his threeyear-old son is ‘progressing well’ during treatment for liver cancer.
The Canadian singer praised ‘brave’ Noah in a statement on his official Facebook page.
‘We are so grateful to report that our son Noah has been progressing well during his treatment and the doctors are very optimistic about the future for our little boy,’ he wrote.
‘He has been brave throughout and we continue to be inspired by his courage.
‘We thank God for the strength he has given all of us. Our gratitude to his doctors and caretakers cannot be put into words.
‘We’d like to thank the thousands of people that have sent their prayers and good wishes to us.
‘As we continue this journey we are greatly comforted by your support and love.’
However, the good news may have caused friction in the family.
Buble spoke out the day after his sister-in-law apparently confirmed to a journalist that Noah is now ‘cancer-free’.
Argentinian journalist Tomas Dente told TV show Nosotros a la mañana this week that Noah’s aunt, nutritionist Daniela Lopilato, had told him: ‘The cancer has gone.’
‘I’m going to read word for word what Daniela told me because I don’t want to miss out even a comma,’ he told the programme.
‘There’s a sentence which I think is wonderful and has to do with the information a colleague of mine had received, and I insist there’s no official confirmation because Noah’s parents haven’t spoken, but in prin41,
‘Inspired by his courage’
ciple the youngster is on the mend.
‘The sentence is: ‘‘The cancer has gone’’’.’ But after the news broke, Ms Lopilato rapidly distanced herself from the claims on Twitter.
She tweeted: ‘Don’t use my name in the media with information and things that I haven’t said.
‘Noah is doing well and his parents will speak when they want to.’ Buble, and his wife, Argentine TV actress Luisana Lopilato, 29, confirmed Noah had cancer in November after doctors performed a liver biopsy in Buenos Aires.
It was previously claimed Noah has a 90 per cent chance of beating the disease.
The couple, who also have a oneyear-old son, Elias, put their careers on hold to dedicate their time to Noah’s recovery.
Speaking in November, Mr Buble said: ‘We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US.
‘We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children.’
Buble had to pull out from hosting this year’s BRIT Awards.
He was replaced by Emma Willis and Dermot O’Leary.
