Family pays tribute to carer found dead in flat
A HEARTBROKEN family paid tribute to their ‘much loved daughter, sister and auntie’ who was found dead in a flat at the weekend.
Police and ambulance workers shut down Hutchison Road in Edinburgh on Saturday morning after going to the flat and finding Hannah Dorans, 21.
When they arrived there was nothing they could do to revive the carer from Dalkeith, Midlothian.
Numerous ambulances and police vehicles remained on the scene throughout Saturday, with the road partially sealed off to the public.
Uniformed and plain clothes officers could be seen working in the area.
Yesterday, police announced a 23-yearold man had been charged in connection with the death and was expected to appear in Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.
Images from Miss Doran’s Facebook page show her wearing a St John Ambulance uniform and friends spoke of volunteering alongside her.
Speaking through a Police Scotland liaison officer, her family said: ‘Hannah was a much loved daughter, sister and auntie and we are absolutely devastated as a family by her death.’
Detective Inspector Stuart Alexander of Police Scotland’s major investigation team said: ‘A man has now been charged in connection with Hannah’s death and we’re not looking for anyone else.’
Miss Dorans worked at the Spire Murrayfield Hospital. Director Ken Hay said: ‘Hannah was an incredibly respected and much-loved member of the team.’
