Getting married? Ramsay could serve up your big day
IT may not sound like the most romantic of marriage proposals.
But brides and grooms could soon be joined by Gordon Ramsay on their big day.
The Kitchen Nightmares star is setting himself up as a wedding planner and intends to cater for the whole event.
This means he would be involved in sending out the invitations and gift list, booking the marriage ceremony, arranging the order of service and even choosing bridal gowns.
Afterwards, the notoriously foul-mouthed Scots chef will provide the entertainment – and even gift bags for departing guests.
The 50-year-old, originally from Johnstone, Renfrewshire, has applied to trademark Weddings Gordon Ramsay with the Intellectual Property Office.
The father of four is expected to launch his new venture later this year.
A spokesman said: ‘We currently host weddings at all of our London restaurants. As a business, and an individual collection of restaurants, we constantly evolve to provide the best service to our guests.
‘We may therefore look to develop our wedding offering later in the year.’
The application in the Trade Mark Journal includes wedding and civil partnership ceremony planning and shows Ramsay is intending to deal with every aspect of the occasion, including outside catering, clothing hire, videos and live entertainment, while young guests will be offered colouring books.
The Gordon Ramsay Group has 14 venues in London, from the Savoy to the Michelinstarred Petrus and gastropub The Narrow, available for the big day.
Ramsay married his wife Tana in 1996 and they have children Megan, 18, twins Holly and Jack, 17, and 15-year-old Matilda.
