A HOME improvement franchise can delight customers and franchisees alike.

Graham Kerridge, Norfolk franchisee with oven cleaning service Ovenclean, says: ‘The positive feedback and “wows” you get from customers make the job worthwhile. I get a huge amount of repeat and referral business.’

Former prison officer Graham started the business because he wanted a career change. He says: ‘Running my own business seemed so scary, but I went to one of Ovenclean’s open days and left eager to get started.

‘I began training with a business mentor, an established franchisee, and head office provided support and advice. This made the transition from employee to self-employment easy. They know what you need to do to get the phone ringing.

‘It’s hard work, but you don’t mind, because at the end of the day, you’re reaping the rewards.’

Ovenclean recruiter Kathryn Painter says: ‘Oven cleaning has been voted the UK’s most hated chore, so there is high demand for our service. We are looking for more hardworking franchisees whose friendly attitude and pride in their work will drive recommendations and repeat business. You need no experience as training and support is provided.’ The Ovenclean investment is £14,995.

Tom Plant, who recently took over of the in-toto kitchen design showroom franchise in Birmingham, says: ‘I was working in kitchen design, but wanted to turn my enthusiasm and experience into a profitable business. I felt that intoto’s proven business model and high-quality products would be worth the investment.’

He adds: ‘I feel confident in running my business day-to-day, but there’s a comfort in knowing that the advice of a franchisor with over 35 years’ industry experience is readily available.’

Jasmine Powdrill, in-toto’s franchise development manager, says: ‘Our franchisees benefit from in-toto’s strong brand recognition, reputation, training package, national advertising, franchisee support and lead generation.’

The in-toto franchise investment averages £105,000.
