The ‘One Night Stand’ Moss Bros adverts aimed at teens

-

MOSS Bros has launched an advertising campaign called ‘One Night Stand’ targeted at teenagers renting suits for their school prom.

But the firm has been accused of being ‘a disgrace’ in its bid to profit on the growing popularity of the events.

Its advertising (pictured) is set to hit shops next month, with a view to cashing in on the end-of-year school dance. The events often see parents spending hundreds of pounds on outfits.

Moss Bros’s fashionable ‘first suits’ for teenagers are advertised with the strap line ‘One Night Stand’, linking the hire of the suit with a brief sexual encounter.

Chris McGovern, of the Campaign For Real Education which demands better standards in schools, said: ‘Parents should think about whether they should provide the cash to buy the suits. It’s basically giving them the green light for a one-night stand. It’s having a low opinion of boys and it’s a disgrace.’

Moss Bros chief executive Brian Brick said the words were meant in good humour, adding: ‘The language is how a 16-year-old would talk.’
