ALLIANCE Pharma advanced as it revealed pre-tax profits had more than doubled to £22.2m in 2016.

The business is involved in marketing and distribution of pharmaceutical products.

Alliance said it had doubled the size of the group after integrating 27 products acquired from Sinclair and had seen strong international growth in its Kelo-cote scar treatment and MacuShield food supplement products.

Shares gained 0.8pc, or 0.38p, to 47.38p.
