...AND FINALLY

-

THERE has allegedly been renewed pressure on Scotland captain Greig Laidlaw from Clermont Auvergne — the club he will join from Gloucester in the summer — to call time on his international career. At the age of 31, and moving abroad for the first time with a young family, some would see this as the perfect moment to concentrate solely on his club career. Laidlaw has made clear, however, that if he isn’t selected for the Lions, he wants to go on Scotland’s summer tour, with matches against Italy (in Singapore), Australia and Fiji. Only then will he turn his attention to his move to his new club in France. That commitment to the cause sets a great example to the young players coming into the international arena. Long may it continue.
