Posh and Posher

But after Victoria gets her OBE from William, believe it or not she shies AWAY from publicity

‘I’m proud to be British’

SHE is never far from the media spotlight and constantly posts pictures of herself and her family on the internet.

Yet Victoria Beckham was unusually publicity shy yesterday as she received her OBE from Prince William at Buckingham Palace.

The fashion designer caused a stir by shunning the usual round of interviews and pictures afterwards.

Mrs Beckham, 43, looked understated, in a simple black dress, purple heels, her hair pulled into a simple bun and without a hat.

She was accompanied to the Palace by her parents, Jackie and Anthony Adams, and husband David but her four children were not there. Afterwards Mrs Beckham released a statement which said: ‘I’m proud to be British, honoured and humbled to receive my OBE from the Duke of Cambridge. If you dream big and work hard you can accomplish great things.’

The former pop star was accused of ‘a betrayal of etiquette’ in December when she revealed she was to receive her OBE for services to fashion in the New Year’s Honours. Nominees are sworn to secrecy and it is considered a breach of royal protocol to leak the news early.

Her husband, who was made an OBE in 2003, created his own controversy when emails were leaked of him lambasting the honours committee for failing to knight him for his charity work for Unicef.
