Pippa’s fiance pulls out of his brother’s TV venture

-

BEFORE James Matthews marries Pippa Middleton, with Prince George as pageboy and Princess Charlotte as bridesmaid, is the hedge fund manager cutting his business ties with his louche brother, Spencer?

For I hear that James has stepped down as director of the former Made In Chelsea star’s TV production company.

The news comes just days after Spencer’s colourful personal life hit the headlines yet again when the 27year-old lothario was caught flirting with a blonde before bringing her to his London home at 2am. His model girlfriend Vogue Williams, 31, was in her native Ireland at the time.

James has quit his position at Spencer’s company Pug Productions Ltd, which they set up five years ago. In 2014, the business lent the wannabe actor £24,000.

‘Spencer had high hopes of the company,’ one of his friends tells me. ‘He wanted to move into acting and his brother was happy to help him.’ Spencer, who won Channel 4’s ski sports programme The Jump earlier this year, is better known for his offscreen antics.

The Old Etonian has boasted about taking drugs and claimed to have slept with more than 1,000 women. He signed up for I’m A Celebrity... but pulled out of the jungle after two days.

After photos of Spencer and the mystery blonde were published at the weekend, a source informed one newspaper: ‘Spencer was told in no uncertain terms to be on his best behaviour in the run-up to the wedding. His family know there will be a lot of attention, and they want it to be focused on Pippa and James for their big day — not on him.

‘They will not be too impressed to see these pictures.’

Spencer’s spokesman declines to comment, but his brother’s representative is keen to play down the significance of his resignation.

He says Pug is ‘dormant’ and ‘in the process of being wound down’, adding that Spencer repaid the £24,000 loan.
