Taxi driver’s body found

A BODY has been found in the search for a missing man.

Taxi driver Robert Stevenson, 65, had not been seen since Thursday afternoon near Gardenstown in Banffshire.

Police appealed for information to help trace him and the coastguard joined the search.

Officers confirmed his car and the body of a man were found near Pennan on Sunday night.

The body is still to be identified but Mr Stevenson’s family, from Portsoy, Banffshire, have been informed.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.
