Tory sorry for indy ‘joke’
A CONSERVATIVE candidate told a schoolgirl to ‘f*** off back to Scotland’ after she said she backs independence.
James Heappey, who is seeking re-election in Wells, Somerset, made the remark on a visit to Millfield School. He asked sixth-form pupils their opinion on independence. When a Scottish girl told him she backs independence, he reportedly told her to ‘f *** off back to Scotland’.
Mr Heappey said the comment was a ‘joke’ and wrote to the girl to apologise, but the SNP wants him suspended from standing in the General Election.
