Old-time politics

-

Do YoU remember the old days of electioneering when candidates held hustings that anyone could attend and we were not captive audiences in front of a tV?

Some of the witty shouts from the audience were a joy to hear. Harold Wilson could give back as good as he got while Edward Heath was completely tongue-tied. Politicians who couldn’t deal with hecklers were treated unmercifully by the audience. General Elections were exciting then and even fun. then along came political correctness.
