Nuisance call

-

HOW can the director of a telephone cold calling company get away with not paying a £400,000 fine by simply closing down his firm, Keurboom Communications Ltd?

As a retired accountant, I know that if a limited company engages in acts that are illegal, then the directors are accountable.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants conducted an investigation that showed 90 per cent of people are claiming qualifications they do not hold. This may explain why telecoms firm boss Greg Rudd has been allowed to walk away seemingly scot-free.

It’s time that private firms and government departments employing legal and accounting staff eyeball the documentation to ensure applicants are qualified. ROGER ORMSBY, Abergele, North Wales.
