SEXUALLY transmitted infections are not the only potential risk from unprotected sex, according to an Australian study. Women were asked to take swabs for a year — these showed that those who had unprotected sex had bacteria not usually found in the vagina, but which are linked to infections such as unpleasant bacterial vaginosis.
