thE husband of the lawyer who vanished after taking her daughter to school was last night charged with poisoning her.

Dentist Majid Mustafa will appear in court today accused of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and conspiracy to administer a noxious substance.

Mustafa’s wife renata Antczak, 49, was last seen on April 25 when she returned to their home in hull after taking 11-year-old daughter Victoria to school.

Last night a close friend of Polish-born Miss Antczak told the Mail that he and a number of individuals connected to the missing mother had been placed under armed police protection over concerns for their safety.

Mustafa, 47, and his friend robert Lipinski, 45, who has been charged with the same offences, were arrested on Friday. they will appear at hull Magistrates’ Court today.

Forensic officers searched their homes and removed their cars for further examination. they also searched Mustafa’s dental practice in hull.

humberside Police last night said detectives were still searching for Miss Antczak.

her friend, a man in his 50s who asked to remain anonymous, said he had been placed under police protection by Polish detectives at the recommendation of British officers.

the businessman, who lives near the city of Lodz, claimed Miss Antczak had been bugged before her disappearance.

he said: ‘renata is a cultured, intelligent, educated and beautiful woman, with class.

‘i have been friends with renata for two years. i was contacted by both the UK police and the Polish police because they were concerned about my personal safety after the disappearance of renata.

‘i’m currently under police protection in Poland, at the recommendation of the British authorities.

‘renata told me that bugging devices were used on her. She told me that one of our conversations had been listened to when she was speaking to me on the phone.’

Mustafa had claimed his wife

could have travelled to Poland to join a ‘cult’ after she left a letter titled ‘liberation ritual’ in the family home.

Written in Polish, the letter said: ‘i am liberating myself from all duties, seals [and] vows of: poverty, submission and obedience.’

it went on to say she was liberating herself ‘from spells, black magic and [the] magic of imprisonment and submission’.

the missing mother’s sister Danuta Szulc, 61, and mother Stanislawa, 84, last night confirmed that the handwriting was Miss Antczak’s.

She had asked her husband for a divorce in March and wanted to return to Poland, making plans to enrol Victoria at a Polish school.

Mustafa said he had travelled to Poland just before Easter to ask Miss Antczak’s family why she wanted a divorce.

he has said that for the past six months his wife had spent one week a month in Poland, apparently to train as a therapist for a homeopathic treatment called timeWaver.

‘At the moment we are in a situation where we have no information about my wife,’ he told the Mail last week.

‘We don’t know what happened. i’m not sure where she is – if she is in Poland or the UK.

‘i don’t know why she wanted a divorce. there was no problem with us. Our life was nice. We went on holiday every year. there was nothing unusual.

‘i came back from training in another country and she asked for a divorce. Something wasn’t normal. i started asking why. i started asking what the problem was.’
