Erm, you couldn’t pass the chamois, could you?

- By Charlotte Thomson

THIS window cleaner appears to be living life on the edge, working four storeys up with no safety gear in sight.

He was filmed wiping the top-floor windows at the King’s Highway Hotel, Inverness, by a passer-by who put a nine-second clip on Twitter, saying: ‘Health and safety rules out of the window.’

Wearing a hooded top, the man could be seen using a large squeegee before gingerly making his way along the narrow ledge to the next window at the JD Wetherspoon city-centre pub.

There was nothing visible to protect him from falling more than 30ft to the street and he appeared to have no harness. The window cleaner is believed to have spent 15 minutes on the ledge.

A health and safety inquiry is understood to have been launched. Yesterday, a manager at the hotel said that she was not aware of the incident. Window cleaning agency Greig Avinou, thought to have hired him, said it could not comment as the case was under investigation.
