My long NHS wait
I SAW my GP in February 2016 regarding a urinary problem and he immediately referred me to a consultant who I eventually saw in December 2016.
The consultant advised that I should have an operation and soon after that, I received a letter to say I should be treated by March 15, 2017.
I had my pre-med in January. At the end of March I phoned the waiting-list hotline and was told that my operation would most likely be in June. At the end of May I rang to check and was told that I was unlikely to be called during June or July and that only emergency cases were being treated.
I am now 81 and wonder if I will ever have a remedy to my problem which I regard as urgent. So Nicola Sturgeon’s comment that the NHS in Scotland is better than in England really makes me feel happy.
