It’s full steam ahead for fun on Father’s Day

IT’S Father’s Day this Sunday, so treat your father to a surprise on his special day by taking part in one of the many events being held across Scotland that offer fun for all the family.

The Edinburgh Festival of Cycling ends on Sunday, but there are still lots of activities to see and try.

Get ready for a herd of elephants, tower of giraffes, pride of lions, band of gorillas and more to charge into town on June 23.

They are set to invade Hamilton as part of The BIG Stampede wild art event, which brings together businesses, artists and schools to create a sculpture trail throughout the town.

Head to Glasgow’s Kelvingrov­e Art Gallery and Museum for Frank Quitely: The Art of Comics, a fantastic exhibition which brings your favourite superheroe­s to life, including Batman, Superman and the X-Men.

The exhibition will be the largest collection of work by Coatbridge-born comic book legend Mark Millar.

Alongside comic art there will be the chance to draw a comic page or create your own superhero costume, as well as photo opportunit­ies with Superman flying overhead.
