AIN’T LIFE HARD!

- Words: ALISON BOSHOFF

COCKTAILS on the Cote d’Azur. Skiing in the Alps. Hiking in Arizona. Partying in Ibiza. It’s certainly been a bumper year for Chloe Green. Chloe, 26, daughter of fashion plutocrat Sir Philip, has weathered a tricky period of Instagram purdah, and come out beaming broadly on the other side.

She discreetly changed the settings on her Instagram account to private as BHS went bust last spring and her father got the blame for the £571 million hole in the firm’s pensions pot.

This means that she and her friends could see her profile — and could continue posting pictures — but the rest of the world couldn’t.

However, Sir Philip agreed to pay £363million into the pension fund in February this year. And faster than you could say ‘the unacceptable face of capitalism’, Chloe had made her social media account public again.

And judging by the fabulous pictures she posts of herself in Cannes, Miami, New York, Verbier and Ibiza, her year continues to be a global whirl of fun.

Indeed, life seems to be pretty leisured for Chloe who, sources indicate, is not and never has been employed in her father’s Arcadia empire. She did have a job designing shoes, which were sold in Topshop, one of Sir Phil’s firms, but hasn’t produced a collection since 2014.

Instead, she is said to be ‘kicking over some business ideas’ and deciding what to do next. Raised in Hampstead until the age of six, she and the Green family live in the tiny principality of Monaco, where there is zero per cent income tax.

Her mum Tina, in whose name nearly all Arcadia assets are held, sent Chloe to the international school there, and the family home is a penthouse in the prestigious Roccabella building.

Chloe also has a home in central London, said to be worth £3 million, which was bought by her father.

She is the apple of her father’s eye, and from the age of ten she was brought along as an observer to Topshop board meetings. She left school at 16, briefly appeared in the TV show Made In Chelsea and launched her first collection of shoes for Topshop at the age of 21.

The Chloe Jade Green shoe range was funded by the Green family and sold as a concession within the store. She said in 2013: ‘Fashion has always been a huge part of my life and I have always wanted to join the family business.’

However, in 2015 Tina announced that Chloe would be ‘taking a year off’, saying: ‘Chloe’s got other things to do. I’m sure she will start again, but there will be nothing this year.’

There’s certainly no financial need: the Green fortune is reported to stand at around £4 billion, even after it was dipped into for the pension fund.

There’s also a new boyfriend on the scene, male model Philippe Levy, who is clearly taking up a lot of Chloe’s time.

So what has she been up to? Here, we take a peek at her holiday snaps …
