Yap of luxury! The £170k dog kennel

-

IF YOUR dog is fed up with ruffing it, then this could be just the thing.

For a mere £170,000, you could get your mutt its very own mansion.

The ‘dog manors’ can be fitted with treat dispensers, a conference-calling system and even a thermostat.

Each house, produced by Cheshirebased Hecate Verona, takes about four months to build, with styles including colonial villa, Roman imperial mansion and Spanish palacio.

The houses feature dolomite and marble – and, of course, the floors are scratch-resistant.

Prices start at £30,000, but if your pooch is after something more palatial, a top-of-the-range kennel costs £170,000 – not that far short of the average house price, which is £218,390. Alice Williams, of Hecate Verona, said: ‘I started working on my dog manors after I began asking myself why a dog house shouldn’t be as elegant and beautiful as its owner’s.

‘Our objective now is to create majestic and royal-looking homes for dogs, while seeking to complement the garden and surroundings it stands in.’
