Kara’s heart gets a lift from dashing new doctor beau
WHEN Mr Selfridge star Kara Tointon won Strictly Come Dancing in 2010, it wasn’t just the BBC’s glitterball trophy she took home.
The accountant’s daughter captured the heart of her dance partner, Artem Chigvintsev (below), and waltzed into a three-year romance.
Kara, 33, was ‘heartbroken’ when their relationship ended, but, I can reveal, she has found love again, with a dashing blond physician called Dr Marius Jensen.
Kara introduced me to him at Robinson’s VIP suite at Wimbledon on Saturday. ‘He’s not an actor, he’s a chiropractor,’ she said, adding mysteriously: ‘That’s sort of how we met . . .’
Dr Jensen, also 33, was born in Norway, but runs his own practice in West London’s Notting Hill, where he treats famous athletes, musicians and actors. He recently devised the ‘Jensen Method’, which delivers bespoke exercise regimes and diets.
He can be seen incorporating Kara into his regime on social media, where he is pictured balancing the 5ft 4in actress on his shoulders while she manages to hold on to her mobile. Essex-born Kara has been introducing Dr Jensen to her close friends and successfully navigated a potentially awkward encounter at Wimbledon when she bumped into her ex, EastEnders actor Joe Swash. Kara, whose career began on the soap opera, politely kissed Swash on the cheek before introducing him to her new lover, with whom he shook hands. The actress hinted in 2015 that BBC producers contrived her relationship with Russian hoofer Artem, 35, by placing the two unattached stars together. ‘I was determined we wouldn’t get together,’ said Kara. ‘Then you’re spending so much time with this person and he was so wonderful... so yes, it was inevitable.’
