Parking nightmare

-

I gAVe my son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren a lift from the Borders to edinburgh Airport to catch a flight to France.

I dropped off the family in time for their flight but as I went to leave the airport I could not exit the drop-off area without paying a fee. Luckily, I had taken less than five minutes to drop off my passengers and my fee was £1, but would have been £3 had I not been able to park so easily.

Two weeks later I went to collect them from the same airport and parked in the pick-up area. The minimum fee for this was £3.90 – if you can get your passengers out of the car park within 15 minutes.

The family’s flight was delayed and security checks took for ever so my fee soared to £13.50 for parking for just over an hour.

edinburgh Airport must rethink its drop-off and pick-up policy, as it makes it look penny-pinching and out of touch with real people.

My experience in dropping of and picking up my passengers cost me £14.50 – and I wasn’t even going on holiday. AlASTAIR ROBERTSON,
