ANTHONY STOKES has told Hibs they are poised to see the best of him at the third time of asking. The 29-year-old Irishman last night put pen to paper on a two-year deal to become manager Neil Lennon’s eighth summer signing. stokes enjoyed a prolific season after joining in 2009 then scored twice in the scottish Cup final victory over Rangers a year ago after returning on loan. He endured a disappointing spell at Blackburn Rovers last season but stokes is thrilled to return to Hibs and said: ‘The club has a big place in my heart and it’s where I’ve played some of my best football. It’s an environment that can get the best out of me. ‘The scenes of celebration following the Cup win will live long in my memory. ‘The only disappointment from my last spell was that we didn’t get promotion. ‘The boys did brilliantly last season and now I’ll be looking to help us push on back in the Premiership.’ Lennon added: ‘Anthony is a quality player that we all know well and will be a massive addition to our strike force.’
