Is Boris right to speak out about Brexit?

-

I AM torn over Boris Johnson’s latest intervention on Brexit. He is right that Brexit must be delivered, given the referendum result. And he is right that all the watered-down ideas about keeping this bit and that bit of EU legislation are not an option. But I am troubled he should take it upon himself to launch this great pro-Brexit drive. Mr Johnson seems yet again to be working to install himself in No10. He is entirely unsuitable for PM, a figure who divides opinion in his own party, let alone the country. I find it incredible he has not been sacked as Foreign Secretary. Of the many poor decisions by Theresa May, this may prove the worst. GavIn TraYnor, Glasgow. DEAR Boris, please go. Empty vessels make the most noise. r. McGaHan, sunderland, Tyne & Wear. IT MATTERS not whether people like or dislike Boris Johnson, his article set out very clearly the issues behind the referendum, whether you voted for or against. Had it been written by Theresa May, it would have been hailed as a masterpiece from a great leader. BrIan PHILLIPs, Hemel Hempstead, Herts. NOTHING shows more clearly Mrs May’s weakness than her being unable to sack Boris after his flagrant bid to replace her just days before her Brexit speech in Florence.

vaLerIe CreWs, Beckenham, Kent. THE rest of the Cabinet should follow Boris’s support for Theresa May and counter the Remainers’ negativity. His article was uplifting. We badly need more of the same. davId JoYCe, Hereford.
