Capitalism is a new book by Bill Clinton’s former Labour Secretary Robert Reich. Here he is on private ownership, the ‘basic building-block of free-market capitalism’: ‘Private property has obvious advantages over common ownership. To my knowledge, no customer has ever washed a rental car.’ Not top of my bedside pile of books but maybe Finance Secretary Derek Mackay should dip into the tome. John Swinney must know someone left in Education who can help him with the big words.
