Stab woman discovered in garden dies

-

A PENSIONER has died after being found with stab wounds yesterday.

The woman, named locally as Margaret Campbell, 66, was discovered in the garden of a house in Dunfermline, Fife, shortly after 8am.

Police cordoned off the area as the badly injured woman was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy where she died yesterday afternoon.

Detective inspector Paul Dick said: ‘The woman in her sixties was found outside a property on Izatt Avenue just after 8am. She was taken to hospital where she sadly passed away this afternoon.

‘Her death is being treated as unexplained and officers are carrying out inquiries in the local area to establish the circumstances. A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.’

Yesterday, forensics officers were seen working at the property.

A neighbour said: ‘I looked out of the window this morning and saw police cars and tape everywhere. It was absolutely shocking. It’s a terrible thing to have happened.’
