Police probe crossbow death after house party

-

A MAN has died after reportedly being hit by an arrow from a crossbow in Dundee.

Last night, he was named locally as Gordon Diduca, pictured, a 24-year-old labourer from the city.

Police Scotland would not confirm the identity of the dead man or if any arrests had been made, but said the death was being treated as suspicious.

Detectives are investigating the incident, which allegedly happened late on Sunday night when a loud house party spilled onto Dundonald Court.

Michael Taylor, 23, who lives nearby, said: ‘I heard a couple of really loud bangs. That’s when I looked out my window and saw that there were police everywhere.

‘Directly outside my house there was a man and he kept shouting that someone had been stabbed or shot with a crossbow. His friends were all trying to calm him down but he just kept screaming about it.’

An ambulance service spokesman confirmed two units were sent to the scene at 11.50pm on Sunday. She said one man was taken to the hospital with ‘serious injuries’ and another received treatment at the scene for an arm injury.

A police spokesman said: ‘Police Scotland can confirm that a man has died following a disturbance at Dundonald Court in Dundee. The death is being treated as suspicious and officers are following a positive line of inquiry.’
