Killie’s Jones earns Northern Irish call

-

NORTHERN IRELAND boss Michael O’Neill has predicted a bright future for 22-year-old Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones after calling him into his international squad to face world champions Germany in Belfast next month. ‘Jordan is a player with a lot of potential and has done really well since Lee McCulloch became manager,’ said O’Neill. ‘He’s attracted a lot of attention and has started this season really well. Now he’ll come in for the Germany and Norway matches and it’s a chance for him to impress. ‘He’s very direct, quick and he’s a player supporters will take to. ‘His first thought is always to get beyond people. He likes to take people on, come inside and shoot.’ Ex-Middlesbrough trainee Jones said: ‘It’s brilliant news for me and my family and a really big achievement.’
